by Katie Verlin Laatikainen, Political Science

united-nationsIn March 2016, Adelphi students in the National Model United Nations course offered through the Political Science department––and open to IS majors––participated in the 2016 National Model United Nations, which is held annually in New York and at the United Nations. Over 4,000 students from more than 120 countries, with more than half of the participating universities located outside of the US, come together to simulate multilateral negotiations at the UN. This year Adelphi represented Malta on seven different UN Committees, and one of our delegates––Liz Rilling––won an award for best position paper in her committee!
